Ma. Anadith Solinap, 42 years old, is a teacher who lives in Banate, Iloilo. She has nothing more to ask in life but to secure the future of her children, which she and her husband, Randy Solinap, 46, worked hard for.
On 23 January 2017, an unfortunate event happened when Randy was reportedly involved in a vehicle accident. Randy was rushed to the hospital but died the next day, leaving the sole responsibility of their children to Anadith.
Without Anadith’s knowledge, Randy had insurance. As the leader of the organization that consists of farmers and a member of Taytay Sa Kauswagan, Inc. (TSKI) Farmers Integrated Development Assistance (FIDA) program, which addresses the need of rural farmers, Randy had the privilege to have a loan with a corresponding insurance policy.
A representative from FIDA informed Anadith that she was entitled to claim the benefit of her husband’s insurance. Randy was covered by two insurance products: Gold Plan 2, which covers TSKI members with life and personal accident insurance; and Trenta Bonanza, TSKI’s anniversary program which provides clients with accidental death and dismemberment insurance and a chance to avail of special anniversary gifts. Both products were offered by TSKI to its clients in partnership with InsuranceKo (then MicroEnsure).
With assistance from the FIDA representative, Anadith prepared all of the required documents to avail of the insurance benefits. Her claims were approved a few days after she completed all of the requirements. Anadith received a total of Php 350,000.00. Though in grief due to the loss of her husband, Anadith still chose to continue pursuing the desire to secure the future for their children. “The amount I claimed is a great help”, she said.
Randy may not have been there to personally help her along the way but he made sure that in an unfortunate and challenging time, his family had the means to recover.
